Karen Bendelman has a bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology, specialized in learning disabilities and a Masters in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education. She has over 15 years of experience working closely with schools, teachers and families, providing support and advising on how to best meet the gifted child’s educational, social and emotional needs. She has worked for several programs for gifted students in the United States and Latin America. Karen was a delegate at the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children and a former board member at CAG. Karen was a pioneer in her native Uruguay in the professional development of teachers to work with gifted students and worked as a lecturer at the University of Montevideo before moving back to the United States. Karen is currently Director of Student Life at a school for gifted students in Sunnyvale, CA. Karen regularly presents her work in international conferences and has co-authored a chapter in the American Psychological Association Handbook of Giftedness and Talent as well as two books on the subject.
