Throughout the presentation, participants will:
  1. Identify gifted characteristics within diverse populations.
  2. Understand the correlation between gifted identification and multiple intelligences.
  3. Discuss how culturally responsive educational strategies can be embedded in instruction in order to increase motivation and achievement.

Catherine Estrada, MA, is an educator with over 25 years of experience. She has been a teacher, literacy coach, and coordinator in the LAUSD GATE department. She currently is the principal of San Jose St. Elementary/Highly Gifted Magnet.
