As teachers of gifted students we have learned how to differentiate, first, the content we teach second, the process, third and finally the product our students produce to demonstrate what they learn. Let’s go beyond this and additionally train our students to self differentiate. Let’s explore how offering choices and modeling products at different levels can help students engage in the processes, better serving their individual learning needs. Let’s strive to guarantee a curriculum that challenges each of our students personally. Let's train our students to learn how to assess and address the level of performance they are currently working at in any particular skill. I will share how I have done this in my classroom, and some of the results that I have achieved using this approach.
