Don’t You Forget About Me: Understanding the Social and Emotional World of Gifted Students

Too often the social-emotionl needs of gifted and advanced learners are overlooked because teachers and parents are focused on their cognitive abilities and academic achievement. As a result, gifted students may feel misunderstood and suffer from perfectionism, perceived unmet expectations, and feelings of alienation and loneliness. Through clips from the movie Breakfast Club the panel of experts will explore the needs of these youngsters with some tips for meeting their needs.
