Acceleration can take many forms, including subject(s) or grade(s). Though much research exists affirming acceleration as one of the most cost-efficient, effective and pragmatic strategies for accommodating gifted students, its use remains limited. Drawing from experience, professionals who routinely utilize acceleration with gifted students in elementary, junior high, high school and college share their expertise about how they identify candidates and will provide a practical toolkit to ensure the acceleration is successful.
