Testing can help explain a child’s academic performance, behavior, or social-emotional functioning. This presentation explains the neuropsychological assessment process, and uses and limits in the identification of giftedness and challenges. Areas covered include cognitive ability, attention, executive functioning, auditory processing, expressive and receptive language, visual and verbal learning and memory, visual spatial, visual motor, writing, reading, math, social-emotional functioning, and sensory-motor processing. Participants will walk away with knowledge of what constitutes a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation.
