This session will focus on providing parents of twice-exceptional children information about special education services/(IEP) and 504 Plans within the public school system. Specific topics will include understanding identification procedures with special attention on learning disabilities in California, the differences between an IEP and 504 Plan, and the differences between modifications and accommodations. Finally, a certified gifted teacher and parent of a 2e student will discuss how to effectively work with school personnel.
