Twice-exceptional children amass an enormous amount of knowledge at a young age, but when asked to do traditional assignments such as write a book response, or take a spelling test, they often freeze and shut down. How can we give these children opportunities to express what they know in a modality of strength that interests them? This session will not only present strategies to help educators to create interest and strength based assignments, but will show methods to help teachers and students to discuss and evaluate a product together. Examples from real students will be used and participants will have an opportunity to create products and rubrics.
