This session presents a study examining the life experiences of gifted males in their early careers who overcame serious adversity and attained personal and professional fulfillment. They faced homelessness, poverty, alcoholic parents, gay bashing, bullying, racism, and challenges with twice-exceptionality. Influential factors shaping their resilience are highlighted. Practical implications for K-12 educators and counselors are presented.
