Bronwyn MacFarlane, Ph.D., is doctoral faculty at Arkansas State University where she teaches courses online in educational leadership, advanced statistics, and policy. As professor of gifted education for 13 years, Dr. MacFarlane was honored as one of the top three professors at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2021. She has diverse experience evaluating and designing curriculum and programming for advanced learners and has five books including “Social and Emotional Learning for Advanced Children in Early Childhood: Birth to 8” (2023); “Specialized Schools for High-Ability Learners” (2018) and “STEM Education for High Ability Learners” (2016). She has taught 35 graduate courses, authored/co-authored 25 articles, 95 reports, 25 book chapters, and delivered over 170 presentations. She earned her doctorate with dual specializations in gifted and K-12 education administration at the College of William and Mary after teaching across K-12 content areas and coaching. Leadership roles included Associate Dean of the UALR College of Education and Health Professions; Academic Dean of the Summer Institute for Gifted at Princeton University; NAGC Chair of STEM and Counseling Networks; journal guest editor; national columnist of “The Curriculum Corner” in Teaching for High Potential, and recognition with the 2018-2019 Early Leader Award by the National Association for Gifted Children. She serves as nationally elected board member on the Executive Committee for the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children.
